CBO advises banks to update customer data
Central Bank of Oman has urged all banks in the Sultanate to regularly update clients’ data in accordance with its “know your customer” principle and strengthen their transaction monitoring procedures in a bid to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions.

TD Bank loses bank data on 267,000 clients
TD Bank is notifying customers of a bank data mishap after it lost two data backup tapes containing the names, addresses, debit card numbers, account numbers and Social Security numbers of about 267,000 customers spanning from Maine to Florida. TD Bank acknowledged the possibility of a security lapse and has notified States’ Attorneys General.

Al Hilal Bank signs up for Etisalat’s new data centre
UAE’s Al Hilal Bank has agreed to let information and communications technology provider Etisalat host the bank’s disaster recovery functions at its new data centre facility.
