Brazil’s Itau Unibanco has announced plans to invest a total of $5.1 billion in technology infrastructure, with $1.1 billion going to the construction of a new data centre.
Indian authorities arrest bank data fraudsters
Indian authorities have busted a fake debit and credit card racket after arresting five Mumbai residents who were alleged to have stolen data of citizens in countries like the US, Ireland and Spain to siphon off money from their bank accounts. Authorities also recovered hundreds of fake and blank debit cards from the accused.
RSA warns banks about massive cyber attack
Security vendor RSA revealed that it has picked up on underground chatter detailing a planned attack by a cybergang on 30 US banks in coming months. According to RSA, the gang intends to deploy a variant of the Gozi Trojan to complete fraudulent wire transfers via man-in-the-middle manual session-hijacking scenarios.
