UBA awarded ISO 27001 certification
United Bank of Africa has been awarded ISO 27001 certification for its internet banking application and data centre operations, underlining the bank’s commitment to services security. The bank has invested in fraud detection solutions and information security while improving its internal processes.

Greek authorities recover missing bank data CD
Authorities in Greece have recovered a missing data CD containing the names of roughly 2,000 Greek clients with Swiss bank accounts, paving the way for the country’s government to prosecute tax evaders.

RBS warns customers of phishing scam
Royal Bank of Scotland has warned residents in the Lothians to beware a recent e-mail scam requesting customers’ bank details. The fraudulent e-mail claims that recipients’ customer numbers are temporarily locked due to unusual account activity and requests customers to log onto RBS Digital Banking to change their online banking details.
